Trompe l'oeil painting: open window on Brittany

Like a break overlooking the ocean, this open window trompe l'oeil painting gives the impression that a real opening has been created in the wall. The two white sashes frame a luminous Breton coast, with small coves, rocks, wild vegetation, and turquoise water. In the distance, a few white houses stand out in the landscape, while the branches of a large tree naturally extend the perspective.
An open window onto the Breton coast
The illusion here is based on a particularly immersive composition. The window occupies the edges of the painting and becomes a real border between the inside and the outside. The gaze spontaneously passes between the sashes to reach the sea, then follows the succession of coves to the horizon.
This construction gives the trompe l'oeil window painting an astonishing depth. The flowers and vegetation in the foreground further reinforce this feeling of proximity, as if the garden began immediately behind the window.
The choice of white joinery also brings a lot of light. It allows the painting to integrate naturally into bright, contemporary interiors or those inspired by seaside homes.
A wall trompe l'oeil between sea and nature
Far from very tropical marine representations, this creation favors the character of a Breton coastline: rocky coast, generous vegetation, small beaches, and white architecture discreetly integrated into the landscape.
In a bedroom, a living room, an entrance, or at the end of a hallway, this wall trompe l'oeil can change the perception of a closed wall by creating a real vanishing point. The effect becomes particularly interesting in a room without an exterior view or when a wall seems to naturally lack an opening.
Expanded PVC or Dibond aluminum
In 5 mm expanded PVC, the painting benefits from a rigid and light support whose discreet surface is particularly suitable for the illusion of a window integrated into the wall.
2 mm brushed Dibond aluminum offers a more contemporary and particularly fine finish. The many luminous areas of this composition—sky, water, white joinery—highlight the subtlety of this support.
A trompe l'oeil painting that invites you to imagine the sea just behind the wall, with that rare feeling of having a small Breton cove as your only horizon.

How to choose a modern painting for your home?
Choosing a modern painting primarily depends on the atmosphere you wish to create in your home. A graphic and contrasting wall art piece will add character to a contemporary living room, while an abstract or minimalist painting will naturally fit into a minimalist space.
The size of the painting also plays an essential role. A large format work becomes a strong focal point, whereas a more discreet format allows for harmonious integration with existing decor. Colors, contrasts, and artistic style must interact with the room's volumes and materials.
The choice of finish medium fully contributes to the final rendering of the artwork. Iconik-Art paintings are available on a stretched canvas frame for an authentic and pictorial look, on expanded PVC for a contemporary and lightweight finish, or on aluminum for a modern effect with subtle and elegant reflections.
Iconik-Art collections are designed to adapt to different living spaces, whether it's a living room, an office, or a bedroom. Each decorative painting is conceived to provide a strong visual signature while remaining consistent with the interior's balance.
How to hang the painting?
There are several methods for hanging a picture depending on the type of wall (plasterboard, concrete, wallpaper, etc.), but the simplest and most practical solution remains adhesive strips or nails (like TESA or 3M).
These systems are perfectly suited to our supports (canvas frame, aluminum or expanded PVC panel), require no drilling, and can be removed without leaving any traces if used correctly.
👉 Please note: We provide 4 adhesive strips per picture
