Trompe l'oeil painting of a broken wall on a ski slope

The wall seems to have given way to reveal, just behind it, a ski slope descending into the heart of a huge snow-covered massif. This mountain trompe l'oeil painting pushes the illusion further than a simple window: the irregular opening, the torn pieces of material, and the debris in the foreground give the sensation that a real passage has just been broken through into the room.
A broken wall trompe l'oeil with a striking depth effect
The composition relies on a strong visual break. Around the opening, the white wall appears fractured, revealing its thickness. The uneven contours, cracks, and fragments accumulated on the floor reinforce the impression of relief, while the snowy slope seems to start directly in the room.
It is precisely this connection between the foreground and the landscape that gives this broken wall trompe l'oeil painting its spectacular character. The gaze can follow the slope before delving into the fir trees, then reaching the mountains and more distant peaks. Several levels of depth thus succeed each other behind a surface that is nevertheless perfectly flat.
A ski trompe l'oeil painting opening onto the great peaks
The outdoor light brings another dimension to the scene. The very bright snow contrasts with the rock, the fir trees laden with white, and the darker reliefs of the background. Above, the sun passes through a blue sky punctuated with clouds and gives this ski trompe l'oeil painting an atmosphere of a true high-altitude day.
More immersive than a traditional landscape, this ski slope trompe l'oeil almost makes you want to cross the opening. It will particularly find its place on a wall sufficiently clear to allow the visual effect to express itself fully, in a living room, an entrance, an office, or a contemporary interior.
To extend this universe, our landscapes dedicated to peaks, snow, and vast high-altitude spaces explore the mountain from other perspectives. A discreet and natural gateway to the Montagne Altitude collection.
A wall illusion on PVC or aluminum
The 5 mm expanded PVC is particularly suited to this creation: very light and rigid, it allows for a thin plate even though the image suggests several tens of centimeters of thickness. The adhesive tabs provided facilitate its installation.
The 2 mm brushed Alu Dibond offers an even finer and more contemporary finish. It particularly enhances the contrasts between the whiteness of the snow, the rocky areas, and the bright sky.
With this snow trompe l'oeil painting, the very principle of the wall is subverted: instead of closing off the space, it seems to break to let the mountain into the room.

How to choose a modern painting for your home?
Choosing a modern painting primarily depends on the atmosphere you wish to create in your home. A graphic and contrasting wall art piece will add character to a contemporary living room, while an abstract or minimalist painting will naturally fit into a minimalist space.
The size of the painting also plays an essential role. A large format work becomes a strong focal point, whereas a more discreet format allows for harmonious integration with existing decor. Colors, contrasts, and artistic style must interact with the room's volumes and materials.
The choice of finish medium fully contributes to the final rendering of the artwork. Iconik-Art paintings are available on a stretched canvas frame for an authentic and pictorial look, on expanded PVC for a contemporary and lightweight finish, or on aluminum for a modern effect with subtle and elegant reflections.
Iconik-Art collections are designed to adapt to different living spaces, whether it's a living room, an office, or a bedroom. Each decorative painting is conceived to provide a strong visual signature while remaining consistent with the interior's balance.
How to hang the painting?
There are several methods for hanging a picture depending on the type of wall (plasterboard, concrete, wallpaper, etc.), but the simplest and most practical solution remains adhesive strips or nails (like TESA or 3M).
These systems are perfectly suited to our supports (canvas frame, aluminum or expanded PVC panel), require no drilling, and can be removed without leaving any traces if used correctly.
👉 Please note: We provide 4 adhesive strips per picture
